No. 1 – the Foundation and Organization

The The festival of International Short film MED-LIMES “on The Borders of the Mediterranean”, the Images and stories from the borders of the Mediterranean nasce come rassegna cinematografica che ha la finalità di diffondere la condivisione e la conoscenza di culture diverse, di istantanee di vita e racconti di vissuto di società abbracciate dal Mediterraneo. Il Mediterraneo, infatti, è visto come ponte di collegamento tra le culture e non come una barriera fra di esse. La rassegna pone l’attenzione sui temi caldi della nostra epoca. Il dramma dell’immigrazione, la scarsità di risorse idriche e alimentari per soddisfare il fabbisogno di milioni di individui, la discriminazione nei confronti delle altre culture sono i temi ed i contenuti su cui si basano le produzioni cinematografiche che partecipano alla manifestazione. La Rassegna si svolge nella nona edizione il 14-15-16 Maggio 2026.

Article 2 – Objectives

2.1. The general objectives that The The festival of International Short film MED-LIMES “on The Borders of the Mediterranean sea” aims are:

  • Use the medium of film to spread the knowledge of different cultures and identities that coexist in the area
  • To foster the dissemination of film production minor, the works of up and coming directors who have great cultural value.
  • Focusing on the themes of the 17 SDGs, the Sustainable Development Goals, and to spread the principles, tools, and the commitments that each signatory State and each citizen, individually, can take to reach them

 

No. 3 – Themes and activities of the Festival

  • The Exhibition is only open to short films made by filmmakers of all nationalities are eligible
  • The themes of the Exhibition reflect the 17 SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals of the UN):
  1. Poverty zero
  2. Zero hunger
  3. Health and Wellness
  4. Quality education
  5. Gender equality
  6. Clean water, sanitation, and hygiene
  7. Clean energy accessible
  8. Decent work and economic growth
  9.  Industry, Innovation and infrastructure
  10. Reduce inequalities
  11. Cities and sustainable communities
  12. Consumption and Production managers
  13. To act for the climate
  14. Life under water
  15. Life on Earth
  16. Peace, justice and institutions solid
  17. Partnership for the goals

 The directors will be free to propose works whose plots were subject to one or more of the themes of the exhibition.

Article 4 – Membership

L’iscrizione alla Rassegna è soggetta al pagamento di una quota di 20 dollari, da effettuare tramite piattaforma Filmfreeway. La selezione dei film è a cura del Centro Studi della FONMED – “Foundation South Cooperation and Development in the Mediterranean”.

  • May participate in the review short films – preferably in the Italian language, or subtitled in Italian or English in the following Countries: Spain, France, Monaco, Italy, Malta, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, Greece, Cyprus, Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Palestine, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Akrotiri and Dhekelia (United Kingdom), Gibraltar (United Kingdom).
  • To subscribe to the festival it is necessary to fill in the templates you download from the site medlimes.org consisting of:
  • THE APPLICATION FOR MEMBERSHIP;
  • RELEASE that gives the organization the use of the material mentioned above for the purposes of promotional, educational, informational, and organizational issues related to the review and, in general, to communication activities in the cultural and
    • Enter your details in the Form on this site medlimes.org taking care to insert a valid e-mail address and attach the completed form to the above. The editorial staff of the review will send a link with a unique code to the email indicated in the application phase, which will enable the uploading of the video files in a specific DROPBOX folder.

Item 5 – Enter the film for projection

5.1. The management reserves the right to accept the following screening formats: MP4, AVI, or M4V. Users will upload the files in the shared folder of DROPBOX, which can be accessed by enabling the e-mail that has been entered in the format of the application referred to above.

No. 6 – Sections and activities of the Festival

6.1. The program of the Festival is divided into the following sections:

Short Film Competition

Short films made by directors of the nationalities eligible to contest on the themes related to the 17 SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) and, in general, the culture and the traditions of the Countries of the area

  • Ultra-Limes: short films made by filmmakers from countries outside the mediterranean area.

Out of competition

Short films made by directors from countries of the Mediterranean area and not on issues similar to those of the Review, which is not included in the previous categories, received after the date of expiry of the notice that recount and interpret the latest news on topics related to the 17 SDGs such as immigration, integration and interculturalism. The selection of the short films sectionOut Of Competition” it is left to the discretion of the Centre for Studies of the FONMED – “Foundation South Cooperation and Development in the Mediterranean”.

Special sections

Parallel to the film program, organize, during the days in which the event is held, photographic exhibitions and projects, the docu-film, meetings and round tables on the themes of 17 SDG's, with guests, directors and personalities invited to participate in the event.

The organization reserves before the start of the film review to publish and/or communicate the titles and the writers selected, along with the full program of the event on the official website www.medlimes.org.

No. 7 – Juries and Awards

As part of the Review, the FONMED shall appoint the members of the Official Jury, consisting of personalities from the world of cinema, journalism, and culture, and of the Jury of Young people will be part of children up to the age of 25. The official Jury and the Jury, the Youth will be in charge of giving the official certificates referred to in section 7.2 (a), (b) and (c). The certificate of 7.2 (d), may be awarded to individuals who have distinguished themselves for activities related to the purposes of the FONMED – and will be

awarded by the Presidency. While the certificate 7.2 (e) shall be awarded by the jury who will participate in the event.

  • The official certificates to be assigned to the short film winners are:
  1. “MED-LIMES, Ai Confini del Mediterraneo – Premio Giuria Ufficiale miglior cortometraggio 2026”, awarded by the Jury of the Official;
  2. “MED-LIMES, Ai Confini del Mediterraneo – Premio Giuria Giovani miglior cortometraggio 2026”, awarded by the Jury for Young people;
  3. “MED-LIMES, To the Borders of the Mediterranean, the Prize Jury Special Prize”, awarded by the Jury of the Official;
  4. “MED-LIMES, To the Borders of the Mediterranean – Mediterranean award for Alfonso D'antonio “a Man of the sea”assigned by the FONMED;
  5. “MED-LIMES, To the Borders of the Mediterranean – the people's Jury Award”, assigned by the public that participates in the
  6. “MED-LIMES, To the Borders of the Mediterranean – the Best Documentary Prize” awarded by the Jury of the Official;
  7. “MED-LIMES, To the Borders of the Mediterranean – the Prize for the Best Animation Short” awarded by the Jury of the Official;
  8. “MED-LIMES, Ai Confini del Mediterraneo – Premio Ultra-LIMES”, awarded by the Jury of the Official.
    • The Centre for the Study of the FONMED – “Foundation South Cooperation and Development in the Mediterranean” selezionerà fino a 35 corti tra quelli pervenuti.
    • Certificates and Prizes consist of Plates, and The plates will be delivered during the ceremony, while not present will receive an award certificate.
  • Will not be awarded cash prizes and/or other things of economic value in excess of 150
  • May be assigned to number plates for each theme

 

No. 8 – input Mode to the public and projections

8.1. The films in the festival will take place in the city of Salerno.

8.2 projections in case of an alarm, the health care can only be done on the WEB APP MED-LIMES and uploaded on our YOUTUBE channel.

8.3. The entry to the event is free of charge.

No. 9 – press Accreditation

 Journalists and bloggers can request a credit

  • Applications for accreditation must be submitted not oltre il 13 maggio 2026.
  • Applications for accreditation must be submitted on letterhead, signed by the person concerned and sent via mail to the address info@fonmed.it

 

No. 10 – Privacy and responsibility

The participant at the international Festival of Short film Med-Limes “on The Borders of the Mediterranean”, acknowledge and agree to accept the methods of processing of data carried out by the FONMED for the management of Privacy policy published on the website fonmed.en and, since now, unconditional consent to the use of personal data for all the initiatives related to the event, within the meaning of the d.lgs. 30 June 2003, n.196 s.m.the. on the protection of privacy, the European Regulation on Privacy (GDPR 2016/679), and in line with the regulations on data protection, which entered into force on 25 may 2018 and s.m.the.

  • The participant declares to have the availability of legal of the film and to authorize the public projection without expecting any compensation, freeing the organization of the Festival of international Short film Med-Limes “on The Borders of the Mediterranean” and the rooms allotted to the projections from any liability, present and future.
  • The participant declares to know and to share the purposes of statues of the FONMED – “Foundation South Cooperation and Development in the Mediterranean” present in the articles published on this site fonmed.en
  • By entering the contest, the participant agrees, by implication, the art. from 1 to 11 of this regulation and is responsible for the content of its further represents and warrants that the rights in the work, in its entirety, are his property, and that they do not affect the rights of third parties and other authors, subjects, portraits, assignees of the rights, music rights, etc.,

 

No. 11 – changes/changes
