The short films participating in the II Edition of the MED-LIMES “on The borders of the Mediterranean”:

 

 

“Me First” – Luca Acito – Greece, 2018 – 4’33’

The protagonist is a young man who, after having resolved on its daily problems, includes having to put herself and her well-being first in his life.

 

 

“I Am Okay” – Michel Digout – France, 2017 – 2’28’

A woman is kidnapped and held hostage and calls his mother to ask her to send you the money of the ransom. During the whole phone call attempts, despite the dangerous situation, reassure her.

 

 

“Give me that camera” – Kareem Hussein – Egypt, 2018 – 14’30’

Documentary which the main character, to overcome his fear to use your camera in public, is compared with independent directors, photographers and journalists around the restrictions and the risks to shoot in public places in Egypt.

 

 

“Where is Europe?” – Valentina Signorelli (Prem1ere Film) – Italy, 2018 – 15’00’

A documentary film that explores the role of NGOS in the Mediterranean, seen through the eyes of the crew. The project was shot on board the rescue ship “Dining”, which is coordinated by the NGO italo – franco – German “SOS MEDITERRANEE”, while it is moored in the harbour of Catania.

 

 

“Dandelion” – Jorge Bellver, Irene Cubells, Spain, 2016 – 8’00’

A dandelion fly from the heart of Africa to the coasts, as a symbol of hope for all future generations in a globalized world. The wind has no borders, dreams have no limits.

 

 

“Ana Isms Carol” – Anna Molins, Sergi Marti Maltas – Spain – 27’20’

A love story is not conventional, between Carol and the kingdom of Morocco. A story shaped by its people and by the memories of the protagonist.

 

 

“Yousef” – Mohamed Hossameldin (Prem1ere Film) – Italy, 2018 – 14’00’

Yousef is a chef of success, the son of immigrants, grew up in Italy, who was able to obtain Italian citizenship a few days after the bombing of Macerata. Its certainties begin to crumble, until lead him to a real identity crisis.

 

 

“Nooh” – Edward Bramucci (Prem1ere Film) – Italy, 2018 – 11’47’

Nooh is a child born in Central Africa, the orphan, arrived illegally in Italy. Finding himself in a reception centre, you will be overwhelmed by fear and decides to escape with his superhero imaginary and take refuge in a tower and abandoned. Here will be a meeting that will change his life.

 

 

“Clandestine (Tahrib)” – Gerard Vidal Cortés – Spain, 2018 – 11’

A young moroccan needs to carry a group of migrants aboard an inflatable raft across the strait of Gibraltar.

 

 

“Balo” – Marco Di Gerlando, Ludovica Gibelli – Italy, 2018 – 9’51’

Balo is a young immigrant, arrived in Italy from very far away with the dream of becoming a footballer. The dream will never become reality?

 

“Resilience” – Dario Marzio Sciabbica – Italy, 2018 – 12’

Resilience is the ability of a material to absorb shock without breaking. Capacity also attributable to many people. As the main characters of this film.

 

“Obaida” – Leonardo Cinieri Lombroso – Italy, 2017 – 8’55’

Obaida only 24 years of age, he abandoned the family during the war in Syria to reach Italy. Here his efforts is rewarded and he won a scholarship. But everything has a price. Unable to see his family since 2013...

 

 

“Rainbow roses” – Petra-Thirds, 2018 – Greece – 14’47’

2018, Greece. Many organizations work to help refugees to integrate into the community. Dr. Mahmoud Abdel Rasus, an immigrant second generation from the Sudan, he dreams of all the inhabitants of Greece are hugging each other.

 

 

“Perhaps today...” – Nadine Asmar – Lebanon, 2017 – 8’25’

Oum Karim, a lady of Beirut and 60 years, is used to make the Lahm Bi Ajin, a cake with ham lebanese, once a week.

 

 

“Sweet comfort of missed connection” – Hussen Ibraheem, 2019 – Lebanon – 15’

Zahi back in Lebanon to receive the corpse of his father after he was kidnapped during the lebanese civil war. When it goes into the hospital to see the corpse, he discovers that this is again lost...

 

 

“Far From Home” – Burak Kum – Turkey, 2018 – 10’

A girl, who fled from the war, lives by selling handkerchiefs in a crowded street. You will find, however, to deal with the chaos and the hustle and bustle of the city, a cruel, almost as much as the war. Will you manage to draw the attention of a young woman.

 

 

“But I came by land” – Oguz Cicek – Turkey, 2018 – 19’30’

A baby syrian refugee is taken illegally in the textile lab of Rasim. The first day of work he falls to the ground and dies. After an initial hesitation, Rasim the charge in the car, to take him to the hospital, but in the journey, the small dies. He decides to hide his body, but his conscience will not give him peace...

 

 

“A. B.” – Antony Petrou – Cyprus, 2018 – 4’50’

A little girl of seven years traveling in a chaotic world and dreams to save a friend and maybe the world.

 

 

 

 

“Back to the sea” – Nicolas Balma – France, 2018 – 5’36’

A small turtle back to the sea after being saved from the University Pierre and Marie Curie, and by the Laboratory Arago Banyuls.

 

 

 

“Staccato” – Léa Oussabios – Lebanon, 2018 – 16’15’

Nay is a pianist of 21 years old, about to do a test for access to a school of musicology. The pressure will lead him to question his talent and burn two occasions. Only when the members of the jury will be left will fail to perform in an outstanding way.

“Don't forget to breathe” – Darwin Reina – Spain, 2018 – 11’12’

Film on violence against women. Sofia refuses to admit, first, that the relationship is violent and it's not healthy. Until one day, the situation doesn't fall.

 

 

“With you (With you)” – Henry Capasso, Italy, 2018 – 26’07’

The story of a group of people of different origins, different religions, different ethnic groups, who live together in a peaceful manner in a Welcome Centre in Puglia. The story, taken from a true story, is seen through the eyes of children, the emblem of purity and simplicity.

 

 

“The truth: lost at sea” – Rifat Audeh – Jordan, 2017 – 56’40’

It was 2010 when a group of activists gathered to establish the “Freedom Flotilla”, a convoy of civilian vessels, which will then be attacked by Israel, causing several deaths and injuries. The film, based on the story of one of the survivors, tells both the preparation phase of the flotilla, the attack.

  • In the framework of the event will take place an exhibition on 17 SDG''s (Sustainable Development Goals) and the photo exhibition “Mare Nostrum” by Emanuela: Braghin and Watercolors Enrica Rebeck.

    The Lebanon, the partner country, referred to S. E. ambassador Mira Daher attend the opening, will present its traditions and its culture during the time of the event.
